Patrick Murphy’s Radical Muslim Money

Help AFA stop U.S. Representative Patrick Murphy from selling influence in the Congress to America’s enemies!

PatrickUnited States Representative Patrick Murphy (D-Florida), who is now a candidate for Marco Rubio’s soon-to-be-vacated United States Senate seat, has taken thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from leaders of radical Muslim organizations.

One of the organizations is CAIR, a group with numerous ties to Hamas, including Hamas financing. Recently, United Arab Emirates (UAE) named CAIR to a list of terrorist organizations, which also includes ISIS, al-Qaeda and Boko Haram.

Murphy took $500 from the Executive Director of CAIR-Florida, Hassan Shibly, after the Tampa Tribune had quoted Shibly as stating that Hezbollah is “absolutely not a terrorist organization.” In August 2014, Shibly tweeted that “Israel and its supporters are enemies of God.”

Another organization helping Murphy is Emerge, a group whose leader, Khurrum Wahid, according to the Miami New Times, was placed on a federal terrorist watch list in 2011.

Emerge worked with Murphy to defeat then-Representative Allen West in November 2012. At Emerge’s 2013 Annual Banquet, Murphy gave a victory speech and received an award from the group.

Also speaking at the banquet was then-Tampa-area Regional Field Coordinator of Emerge, Laila Abdelaziz. In November 2012, when Israel invaded Gaza in order to stop Hamas from continuing to target her citizens with rockets – over 2000 rockets in less than one year – Abdelaziz tweeted, “Don’t worry ya Gaza, we’re working hard for you in Florida.”

To date, Murphy has taken at least $10,000 from individuals associated with Emerge.

We ask that you assist us in our campaign to tell Patrick Murphy to give back the money he has received from these group’s representatives.
